Moxie Auctions is Maine’s only dedicated Benefit Auctioneer Company
Working extensively with clients on all phases of planning and preparing for their fundraising events.
As one client put it, “Ruth earned her fee in the first consulting phone call alone!”
Ruth Ludwig Lind, CAI, BAS, graduated from the Mendenhall School of Auctioneering, and has taken numerous courses of graduate study in the fields of Auctioneering and Benefit Auctions.
She has completed a number of in-depth courses in the field of fundraising, including BootCamp for Benefit Auctioneers and the yearly National Auctioneers Association’s Benefit Auction Summit, as well as the Benefit Auction Specialty classes and practicum, Kathy Kingston’s master class in Fund A Need, and Penelope Burk’s Donor-Centered Fundraising. She regularly pursues her study of the field through the many courses offered by the National Auctioneers Association and Benefit Auction and fundraising professionals.
Ruth has completed the three-year education and practice requirements to earn the prestigious Certified Auctioneer Institute (CAI) designation, an achievement fewer than 3% of auctioneers in the United States have completed. In additional, her Benefit Auctioneer Specialist (BAS) designation identifies her as one of the 250 auctioneers in the country with this specific, demonstrated expertise in her field.
Ruth is an active member of the National Auctioneers Association and the Maine Auctioneers Association, which she served for three years in the role of President. She regularly assists other local Auctioneers, and participates daily in Benefit, Appraisal and General Auctioneering forums and networks.
Before immersing herself in the exciting world of Auctioneering, Ruth was a news broadcaster and magazine editor, international commercial balloon pilot, and later a real estate developer. She is a self-confessed failure at retirement.
She holds a BA in Modern Languages and Art History from the University of Maine, and serves her community on various municipal boards and committees.
When she is not working with Maine schools and non-profits to maximize their fundraising goals, you will find Ruth in her studio creating quilts and fiber art, hiking the woods and shore with her dogs, or traveling the world with her very patient husband, David.
